The Different Types Of Acne:
- Whiteheads (remain under the skin and are very small)
- Blackheads (clearly visible, they are black and appear on the surface of the skin. Remember that a blackhead is not caused by dirt. Scrubbing your face vigorously when you see blackheads will not help)
- Papules (visible on the surface of the skin. They are small bumps, usually pink)
- Pustules (clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are red at their base and have pus at the top)
- Nobules (clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are large, solid pimples. They are painful and are embedded deep in the skin)
- Cysts (clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are painful, and are filled with pus. Cysts can easily cause scars)

Tips on looking after your skin if you have acne (or are prone to acne):
- Wash your face about twice each day. Do not wash it more often. Use a mild natural soap made with 100% herb-based ingredients.
- Don't try to burst the pimples. You may push the infection further down, causing more blocking and worse swelling and redness. Popping pimples makes scarring more likely to happen.
- If you have to get rid of a pimple for some event, such as a wedding, or public speaking occasions, don’t fret! Get into a regime of guided green juice fast and enema sessions with your holistic health care practitioner and you’ll see just how fast those nasty pimples disappear!
- Try to refrain from touching your face with your hands. When you are on the phone try not to let the receiver touch your face - there may be sebum and skin residue on it.
- Keep your hands clean, wash them regularly.
- Always wash your hands before touching your face. This includes before applying lotions, creams or makeup.
- Glasses should be cleaned regularly. They will collect sebum and skin residue.
- You skin needs to breathe. If your acne is on your back, shoulders or chest try wearing loose clothing. Tight garments, such as headbands, caps and scarves should be avoided - if you have to wear them make sure they are cleaned regularly.
- Don't go to sleep with makeup on. Only use makeup that is made with 100% botanical ingredients and are non-ceomedogenic and non-acnegenic (you should be able to read this on the label). If you cannot find it, ask the shopkeeper or pharmacist. You should use makeup which does not have oil and does not clog up the pores.
- Hair collects sebum and skin residue. Keep your hair clean and away from your face.
- Eliminate fried foods and hydrogenated oils; add more vegetables to diet; increase outdoor exercise.
Bible Nugget/s To Chew On:
*If you are a Christian, may these verse/s help you as they've helped us:
"For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church" -Ephesians 5:29
Remember - Your skin is not yours to pick. Your body belongs to Christ, to God.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body (Ref: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Pamper and respect your skin. Do not scrape, cut, pick, or squeeze it intentionally.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Ref: Romans 12:1-2).
You are not alone, and you will overcome this.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ref: Ephesians 2:8-10).
Focus on godliness. Be like an innocent child who isn't concerned with the flesh.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children (Ref: Ephesians 5:1).
Don't let negative thoughts about your skin trap you. It is not up to you whether or not your pores are filled with sebum or covered with scabs.
But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap (Ref: Luke 21:34).
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it (Ref: 1 Corinthians 10:13).
Beauty is on the inside.
Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious (Ref: 1 Peter 3:3-4).
Love yourself and relax into positive thinking.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you (Ref: Philippians 4:8-9).
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer (Ref: Romans 12:12).
